Dr. Kurt Schlemmer, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Otolaryngology (ENT) Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He previously served as a Consultant ENT Head and Neck Surgeon at leading institutions in Abu Dhabi and was the Director of the Durban Cochlear Implant Program in South Africa. Dr. Schlemmer earned his medical degree from University of Pretoria and completed a Master’s degree in ENT as well as a Fellowship in Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery with distinction from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.

He has undertaken advanced subspecialty training in otology, neurotology, and skull base surgery across multiple European countries and the UK. Dr. Schlemmer has delivered over 40 academic presentations and published widely in peer-reviewed journals, while also serving as a reviewer and editorial board member for international ENT publications. His clinical expertise includes hearing loss rehabilitation, cochlear implants, vertigo, Ménière’s disease, middle ear surgery, skull base tumors, and complex balance disorders.
