Dr. Paul Charlesworth is a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon currently practicing at SEHA Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he brings over 25 years of experience in pediatric and neonatal surgery. He earned his medical degree from The Royal London School of Medicine & Dentistry in 2001 and began his specialist pediatric surgical training in 2004. He also completed a Master’s degree in Surgical Sciences with distinction. His training was undertaken at leading UK centers including Great Ormond Street Hospital, King's College Hospital, The Royal London Hospital, and Manchester Children’s Hospital. Dr. Charlesworth was awarded the prestigious Worshipful Society of Cutlers Fellowship in Surgery, with a focus on advanced laparoscopic surgery in children. He has also served as a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon at The Royal London Hospital, managing complex pediatric surgical cases. In addition, he has authored more than 50 international publications, reflecting his strong commitment to evidence-based surgical care.

Prof. Dr. Amulya Saxena

Dr. Amulya Saxena is an award-winning Consultant in Neonatal and Pediatric Surgery at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College London, and the Past President of the European Pediatric Surgeons’ Association (EUPSA). He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery. He trained in pediatric and neonatal surgery at the Medical University of Münster, Germany, and served as Deputy Director of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Graz, Austria, following a Research Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Saxena specializes in surgical management of premature and neonatal babies and complex congenital malformations, with expertise in chest wall deformities, advanced minimal access surgery (laparoscopy and thoracoscopy), and pediatric gynecology. He has performed advanced procedures in over 20 countries and received prestigious European and international awards for his scientific contributions. He is the author and editor of two textbooks, including Essentials of Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery and Chest Wall Deformities, and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Saxena directs European Laparoscopy and Thoracoscopy Courses across the UK, Latvia, Serbia, Romania, Azerbaijan, and Switzerland. He chairs the EUPSA European Consensus Statement Committee and STEPS Seminars, and serves on the WOFAPS Scholarship Committee. He has gained extensive international experience across Europe, the USA, and Japan. Throughout his career, he has combined clinical excellence with education, research, and leadership in pediatric surgery.
