Pediatric Neurology

Prof. Ubaid Shah is an Australian-trained Consultant Paediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist at King’s College Hospital London - Dubai and American Hospital Dubai, providing specialized neurological care for infants, children, and adolescents across Dubai and the region. He earned his MBBS with Honors, followed by postgraduate training in Paediatrics (MD, DCH), and completed a Fellowship in Paediatric Neurology (FRACP) as well as advanced training in Paediatric Epilepsy. Since beginning his medical career in 2005, he has accumulated over 18 years of experience managing complex and refractory neurological disorders in children. Prof. Shah is internationally recognized for his expertise in childhood epilepsy, including drug-resistant cases, and treats a broad range of neurodevelopmental, neuro-immune, neuromuscular, and movement disorders. His clinical approach emphasizes early diagnosis, precision-based treatment strategies, and family-centered care, including advanced therapies such as the ketogenic diet, vagal nerve stimulation, and robotic-assisted Stereo-EEG. He has also led state-of-the-art epilepsy services in the UAE and serves as Adjunct Clinical Professor at Gulf Medical University, reflecting his commitment to medical education and postgraduate training. His specialties include refractory epilepsy, autoimmune and inflammatory encephalitis, pediatric acute neuropsychiatric syndromes, developmental regression, movement disorders, neurodevelopmental conditions like ASD and ADHD, and pediatric headache disorders. Prof. Shah combines clinical excellence with research, leadership, and innovation to optimize long-term neurological and developmental outcomes for children.
