She obtained her bachelor’s degree with honours from Donetsk State Medical University in Ukraine and then went on to complete her PhD whilst working as a doctor and a lecturer at a local medical university, followed by her post-graduation foundation program at Princess Royal University Hospital, London, and long-term posts in the Emergency and Paediatric Department in Bromley and Lewisham Hospitals. She was previously a member of the British Menopausal Society and held a cytology sample taker Certificate.
