Dr. Ida Amir is a UK-trained ENT Consultant specialising in Otology, Neurotology, and hearing implants, with advanced expertise in complex ear and skull base conditions. She graduated from Manchester University and completed her ENT training in Scotland, obtaining FRCS (Edinburgh) and CCT, followed by a prestigious advanced fellowship in Otology, Neurotology, and Cochlear Implants in New Zealand. Prior to relocating to the UAE, she served as an NHS ENT Consultant in Glasgow, home to the UK’s largest ENT unit, where she re-established the Otology service in North Glasgow and acted as regional Otology Lead.
Dr. Amir is a GMC-accredited trainer, supervising registrars, teaching temporal bone dissection courses, and serving as faculty for FRCS examination courses. She holds an MSc in Clinical Trials and has a strong research profile, including work with UK universities and clinical trial units, most recently as Principal Investigator for the UK-wide STARFISH trial. Her clinical interests include ear infections and hearing loss, advanced ear and endoscopic ear surgery, hearing improvement and implant surgery (including cochlear and bone conduction implants), balance and vertigo disorders, and a broad range of ENT procedures involving the nose, throat, and Eustachian tube, delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care.
